The New Orleans Lakefront Airport, originally the Shushan Airport, open in 1934 and was to be “The Air Hub of the Americans.” As you will soon come to understand, this airport was not just built for people to come and go, it was built as an elegant and interesting place for people to do business, where business executives had luxury suits to hold meetings. More importantly, and in true New Orleans fashion, the airport was also built as a place for people to enjoy and have a good time!
