Allow the charm of Louisiana’s plantations to transport you back in time to the era that invented “Southern hospitality”. Your guide will tell you fascinating stories about the plantations, their former owners and the troubles and tribulations they’ve faced.
You may choose to visit up to two of the three following plantations:
- Oak Alley Plantation – likely the most photographed plantation in Louisiana… it is also where Interview with a Vampire was filmed;
- Whitney Plantation – where you can get a glimpse of the history of enslaved people from first-person slave narratives; and
- Laura Plantation – where you can experience what has been coined “the best history tour in the U.S. This Creole plantation tour is based upon 5,000 pages of documents found in the French National Archives and upon Laura’s “Memories of the Old Plantation Home” where 250 years of stories about the lives of creole women who worked on the plantation were documented.
