Ask the Locals, LLC is a registered company in Louisiana, United States of America whose registered office is at 1758 Pressburg Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70120 (hereinafter, “Ask the Locals”). Your contract will be either with Ask the Locals or with another vendor and this will depend on the type of arrangements you book.


Your contract with Ask the Locals may include the following: (a) transportation, (b) accommodation, and (c) tourist services. For all other arrangements, Ask the Locals is the Booking Agent for the supplier(s)/vendor(s). In this event, your contract will be with the supplier(s)/vendor(s) and Ask the Locals accepts no responsibility for the supplier(s)/vendor(s) actions or omissions.


  1. Ask the Local’s Reservation Procedure:

1.1 After you make the right decision to have your trip planned by Ask the Locals, we will discuss the terms, goals and budget of your groups’ travel to New Orleans. Once we have a good handle on your expectations and desires, these expectations and goals will be transcribed onto paper and you will typically pay a non-refundable Trip Planning Deposit  (hereinafter, “Deposit”) of $100.00 to Ask the Locals. Please note, this Deposit will be applied to the overall cost of our services, it is not an additional expense. Further, this Deposit covers the cost of researching and building your custom itinerary.


  1. Payments


2.1 All payments to Ask the Locals are to be made via credit card through one of the following means: GoPayment (issued via email), Venmo, or over the phone.
2.2 An initial non-refundable payment of $100.00 (or, depending on your requested services, a % of the full price, at the discretion of Ask the Locals) is payable at the time of booking.
2.3 The remainder of the balance payable to Ask the Locals is to be paid on our before the deadline provided to your group prior to the experience/trip taking place.


2.4 If the balance remains unpaid after the provided deadline, Ask the Locals reserves the right to charge the remaining balance amount to the initial credit card on file or cancel your booking with notice. You will be liable for any costs incurred.

  1. Prices

3.1 All prices will be in US dollars.
3.2 No refunds will be given if currency rates improve.

  1.     Amendment

4.1 If Ask the Locals is your Booking Agent, your contract with your suppliers may allow the supplier to change the booking details. When this occurs, Ask the Locals will ensure that you are promptly notified of any significant changes, but Ask the Locals will accept no liability for the changes or costs, which may result.
4.2 Ask the Locals anticipates that your trip will run as planned; however, under certain circumstances, it may be necessary to amend part of the trip. In such situations, Ask the Locals, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to issue a refund.
4.3 If Ask the Locals is unable to offer a significant aspect of the trip, you will be offered a refund or alternative, which Ask the Locals, at its sole discretion, deems suitable.


  1.    Cancellation by Ask the Locals or Its Supplier

5.1 Ask the Locals reserves the right to cancel a trip or any part thereof. In this unlikely event, you will receive a refund of all invoices paid to Ask the Locals less any losses incurred by Ask the Locals.
5.2 No refund will be issued if Ask the Locals is forced to cancel or make significant changes to the trip due to circumstances out of its control. These circumstances include but are not limited to force majeure: acts of God, fire, explosion, adverse weather conditions, flood, earthquake, terrorism, riot, civil commotion, war, hostilities, strikes, riots or civil disturbances or acts of government and any acts which lead the US Department of Homeland Security to advise travellers against nonessential travel to your destination.

  1.     Changes by You

6.1 If, after our invoice has been issued, you wish to change your trip in any way (for example, your chosen departure date), Ask the Locals will do its utmost to make your changes but this may not always be possible. Any request for changes must be made in writing.
6.2 You may be asked to pay an administration charge of $50 for each person whose travel arrangements are changed, along with any further costs we incur in making this alteration.

  1.      Cancellation by You


7.1 If you wish to cancel a trip or leave/return early, Ask the Locals will to do what it can to help you make any necessary arrangements. However, all payments are non-refundable and any additional costs incurred by Ask the Locals occasioned thereby shall be your liability.


7.2 Experiences cancelled less than 7 days before the planned start time will be subject to 100% of the quoted rates.

  1.  Your Behavior and Responsibilities

8.1 You are expected to behave decently and with consideration to Ask the Locals, any suppliers and fellow travellers.
8.2 You must comply with the rules and regulations set by accommodation providers and all other suppliers.
8.3 Ask the Locals does not accept responsibility and is not liable for any negligent acts or defaults of any supplier or any other person should you suffer any injury as a result of or in connection with any activity you engage in while on your trip planned by Ask the Locals.
8.5 All of your property is your own responsibility; Ask the Locals does not accept responsibility and is not liable for any loss, damage or injury to your property or your person.


  1.       Documentation


9.1 You are responsible for obtaining all required travel documentation. You must obtain any required visas and have a passport that is valid for at least six months from the date that you enter all foreign countries. It is also your responsibility to ensure that these documents are in good order and that you have them with you when necessary.
9.2 Ask the Locals is not responsible for any costs incurred due to your not having the correct documentation when required.


  1.    Travel Arrangements

10.1 You are responsible for checking in for all flights and other travel arrangements in good time and with the correct documentation. Ask the Locals will not be responsible for any costs incurred by your failure to be there on time or with the required documents.

  1.     Other Suppliers

11.1 Some aspects of your trip may be run by third-party suppliers. These include, but are not limited to, accommodations, biking, walking, horseback riding, rafting, kayaking, canoeing, paragliding, first aid courses, gliding, and helicopter and other aircraft flights or charters. These aspects may be dependent on factors outside Ask the Locals’ control, and if they do not run for any reason, no refund will be given.


11.2 You must acknowledge that many of the activities offered are inherently risky. Ask the Locals does not accept responsibility and is not liable for any negligent acts or defaults of any supplier or any other person, company or corporation not directly employed by Ask the Locals.
11.3 Some suppliers may request that you sign a release of liability. If you refuse to sign, you will be excluded from that activity and no refund will be issued.

  1.      Ask the Locals’ Responsibilities and Limitation of Liability

12.1 Ask the Locals accepts no responsibility for the actions or omissions of suppliers when it acts as your Booking Agent, and in such cases the rest of this clause does not apply.
12.2 Although Ask the Locals takes all reasonable precautions to prevent accidents or injury, you acknowledge and agree that some of the activities on the trip in which you participate do have a risk of accident and serious injury. Therefore, you will not take any unreasonable risks, and if you do, then you are responsible for your own actions.
12.3 Ask the Locals will be under no liability at all if you suffer loss, death or personal injury where there has been no fault on the part of Ask the Locals or its own employees.
12.4 Ask the Locals accepts responsibility for death, injury or illness caused by the negligent acts and/or omissions of its employees or agents and its suppliers while acting within the scope of or in the course of their employment in the provision of your travel arrangements. Ask the Locals will indemnify you for such damages in accordance with the laws of Louisiana.
12.5 The amount of compensation to which you are entitled will be determined in accordance with and/or provided in an identical manner to:

  1. The contractual terms of the companies that provide the transportation for your travel arrangements. These terms are incorporated into this contract; and
  2. Any relevant international convention, for example, the Montreal Convention in respect of travel by air, the Athens Convention in respect of travel by sea, the Berne Convention in respect of travel by rail and the Paris Convention in respect of the provision of accommodation, which limit the amount of compensation that you can claim for death, injury, delay to passengers and loss, damage and delay to luggage. Ask the Locals is to be regarded as having all benefits of any limitation of compensation contained in these or any other conventions.

12.6 Ask the Locals does not accept responsibility for unusual and unforeseen circumstances beyond our control where the consequences could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised or could not have been foreseen or forestalled.

  1.      Currency Refunds

13.1 All refunds made by Ask the Locals may be made in the currency originally used to make the relevant payment.


  1. Complaints

14.1 Any complaints or suggestions about your trip should be made to Ask the Locals via the email and/or message application found on its website or through U.S. Postal and addressed to Ask the Locals at 1758 Pressburg Street, New Orleans, LA 70120, United States of America, and every effort will be made to reach an amicable solution.

  1.       Law and Jurisdiction

15.1 These terms and conditions and all disputes arising out of or in relation to the contract entered into between Ask the Locals and your group will be interpreted in accordance with and governed by the laws of Louisiana.
15.2 In entering into a contract with Ask the Locals you accept that any dispute arising from such contract will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Orleans Parish Civil District Courts.



  1.     Consumption of Alcohol

You acknowledge and agree that you and the operator of the venue or venues for your experience and any activity in or related to the experience, and the operator of any such activity, will be responsible for:
(a) monitoring the consumption of alcohol by the guests, invitees and attendees at such venue or activity, whether sponsored or hosted by you, your customers, suppliers, business partners or the operator of such venue or activity, whether the alcohol is served to or self-served by the consuming party;

(b)  liaising with the operator of the venue or activity in respect of alcohol consumption; and

(c)  ensuring the safety and security of all persons at the venue or activity, and the safety and security of all persons with whom any person having consumed alcohol thereat may come into contact either at or after leaving the venue or activity.
Ask the Locals will not be responsible for any of the obligations set out in (a) (b) and (c) above, even if it is responsible for promoting, organizing or coordinating such activity at which alcohol will or will likely be consumed.

  1.     Force Majeure

Neither client nor Ask the Locals shall be liable for failure of performance hereunder if occasioned by fire, strike, flood, interruption of transportation, accident, explosion, war, governmental order, regulation or restriction, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the parties.
